If you spend enough time with the same people, eventually there will be conflict. The same holds true for a jiu jitsu gym. In a room full of people who are usually type A where dominance is the name of the game, things get heated sometimes. It's happened at every gym I've ever been a part of and it has happened to me. No one is immune from having confrontations or spats in the gym, but there's no reason to escalate situations above whatever the present issue is. Name calling, swearing, and any type of physical goading are unnecessary, especially when you consider you're both probably going to have to see each other frequently. It's going to happen given the nature of our activity, but make sure that you're not making it worse.
