If something is lofty or difficult, it’s okay to not follow through sometimes. Overall, being a person of your word is very important. Gaining a reputation for not following through is bad. If you say something and don’t do it, how can people count on you? Showing up to class when you say you’re going to is a small thing. If you say you’re going, you go, or you keep your mouth closed. It’s not hard. If you say you’re going to compete, and then you don’t show up to class when you’re supposed to, the only person you can blame is you. You are in control of your results, no one is coming to save you.
