It is necessary to have depth to your game. If your Jiu Jitsu doesn’t have layers, you will be easily defeated. It’s almost my whole philosophy of attack. You’ll notice I play the same series of moves and the same attacks over and over again until the situation is addressed. Depending on how quickly you address the deficiency I’m exposing, we could train for an hour and I may only submit a few different ways, but it could be 20-40 times in that session. This is where diversification and variability come in. I’m able to replicate what I’m doing, because the other player is not forcing me to adopt a different strategy. If they do, then I need to take on the mantle of changing my approach. Adapt to changing circumstances, there are multiple solutions to a given problem.
