Tyranny

​If you must drill, it should be with intention and precision. There should be a tyrannical focus on what you’re doing so that it is effective and useful. If you are drilling correctly, your training partner will be uncomfortable frequently, in fact the most comfortable they will be is when you’ve submitted them quickly, because you did everything right. Running through the process of doing something without actually doing it, is pointless. How often have you been trained on something at work and you have to have someone show it to you over and over again? You never actually learned it when they showed it to you. You learned because you did it. Real time corrections are the best teacher. Nothing in Jiu Jitsu should be easy, that’s not what we do.
