This can be said a lot of ways, and I’ve probably said it a lot of ways. It’s more important to accomplish the goal than to look pretty doing it. We are refining things by doing them, and the more attempts you make, the more efficient you become. At a white belt level everything you do is probably ugly, so don’t get in your head about the right thing to do, just try to accomplish what’s set in front of you. Find a way to do the thing and worry less about one right solution. I promise you as someone who has done this for nearly 23 years, the number of times I hit a picture perfect, textbook version of any move is small. We are looking for a path to an outcome that suits us and then we can build around it forever.
