Much like there are no absolutes, there are no perfect solutions in grappling. On any given day the best in the world can be beat. There is no move that works 100% of the time otherwise there would be no point in martial arts. If it worked the way it does in a demonstration, on a resisting opponent, no one would quit jiu jitsu. Most of the time the answer is getting yourself to a place where your offensive options are better than their defensive options or vice versa. The answer to the question is never as straight forward as you want it to be, because the variables of what you are trying to accomplish are never exactly the same. You are working against another sentient being, both of you will make choices, and those choices will lead to a variety of outcomes. We have no death touch, stop trying to convince yourself that this should be easier.
