Naked double closure is a strangulation or choke that is unassisted by anything but the attacking player’s arms. Conventional examples of this finish are the rear naked choke, guillotine, and north south choke. As with all strangles/chokes we are looking to achieve a simultaneous closure of the carotid arteries on either side of the neck to illicit a submission response or cause unconsciousness. Our bicep and forearm are the primary tools of these strangulations, however the torso, thigh, and shin also present prevalent opportunities for unassisted double closure. Simply what we are looking for is have I utilized my body to efficiently and effectively close off both sides of my opposition’s neck, and that should be the measure of success.
