There is no reason to suffer more than you have to. Staying in submissions and bad positions for extended periods of time does not benefit you. It is taxing on your cardio and your body. It also does not transfer to competition or self-defense. Eating up minutes on the clock where you’re losing is antithetical to what we do. Yes, we try to mitigate damage, but you know what the best way to do that is. Don’t be in garbage positions longer than you have to. Hand in hand with what we talked about the other day, try to win, don’t try not to lose.
