It’s not a unique experience to be in pain all of the time when you grapple. There’s even a point I call terminal soreness, where you sort of reach stasis in that you hurt an equal amount all of the time, so you just don’t notice it. I come from an older school mindset, where training with an injury was something, everyone did, so the idea of taking time off only to have to rebuild your fortitude is foreign to me, but such is life. Your body is adaptable; it gets used to the things you put it through. If you feel like you’re constantly having to acclimate your body to grappling, the answer might be more not less Jiu Jitsu.
