Grappling is difficult, don’t make it harder on yourself. The goal is always to be efficient in what you do, so if you’re constantly exploding to get out of things but getting nowhere, you’re wasting resources. It could be time, it could be energy, but something is slipping away every time you make rash decisions. As we’ve discussed, analysis is key. How does what I’m doing put me in danger, what is my success to energy expenditure ratio, is there a better way to do what I’m doing? You have to ask yourself these questions in order to improve. If you don’t think about what happened and how to change it, most likely it won’t change. You don’t have to make Jiu Jitsu harder than it already is.
