Determination

I was listening to Mike Tyson’s head boxing coach, and he said “I can bring opportunity but I can’t bring determination”. This resonates with me, at the end of the day all I can do is provide the opportunity to learn Jiu Jitsu from me. You must be determined to take the information in and use it and put the work in to be able to implement that information not just in theory but also in practice. I’ve been doing this for 21 years and I still feel like I know nothing, there’s no way you should feel like you have all the information. You must seek the information and take into account the advice you receive. You have to show up, and when you show up you need to focus on the task you’ve been given. There is an opportunity available for you to be as good as you can be at grappling, but not squandering it relies on you.
