This topic came up a few times this week, so let’s talk about it. We all have two imaginary center lines. One goes through the middle of our face at our nose to the floor, the other along our midsection at our navel around our back. The first one we use to get access to the back, for armbars, and arm drags with a multitude of other uses. The second helps us with takedowns and sweeps. Understanding where those centerlines are and how to use them for offense and defense is a big part of grappling. Zero sum as always, I want to disrupt their center line without them disrupting mine. As always ask for further explanation if you don’t understand this concept.
