I get up at 4:30am most mornings. Recently my mornings have been a struggle. Not the getting up part, but the being alive part. I feel like I'm dragging myself everywhere I go until lunch, but I do it. I get up, I work out, I do my morning reading, do some office work, train/teach at 5:30am, clean the gym, shower, eat breakfast, do chores, draw, write one of these blog posts, and do anything else that comes up. I get that in by 10am and then I still have at least 12 more hours of the day that may require my attention. I'll be honest right now I'm not motivated to do most of this, but I rely on discipline not motivation, and chasing the dragon of accomplishing these tasks will give me enough dopamine to keep moving forward. If you want to progress in anything, but especially grappling, being able to show up when there's so many other things you'd rather be doing (including doing nothing) is a vital skill.
