I was having a conversation with an experienced grappler friend the other day and he asked me about people making overconfident comments after you've saved them from themselves. In this particular instance, he had a toehold on the gentleman, and instead of breaking said gentleman's foot he allowed him to escape. This gentleman then proceeded to comment on the flexibility of his feet. Generally, it is advisable when you achieve something good, just continue on act like you've been there before. Maybe they let you out, maybe you got out on your own, but it doesn't really matter and saying dumb stuff to people who've already proven they can put you in a spot to break your limbs is BAD. Overall, never believe you are better than you are, because there is always someone out there capable of taking your lunch money.
