One of the greatest hurdles to your success is thinking you know better than the person that’s teaching you. We had a situation recently where a one month white belt did something to a purple belt simply because she listened. Afterwards, the purple belt was astonished that what I had been telling everyone else for years wasn’t some wizardry that only I was capable of, but simply a matter of listening and executing. If you do the things I say, you’ll get better. It’s that simple. Coaches know whether you are actually implementing what you need to and if you are not willing to listen, there’s only so far you can be helped.
