Being anxious makes Jiu Jitsu more difficult. It takes what can be a moderate workout to something super high intensity. The calmer you are, the less energy you waste. Efficiency will also help to reduce your anxiety. If you constantly act like you are fighting for your life, your body will deplete faster. Fight or flight is not beneficial for grappling, because flight is not an option. You chose to do this, so you must keep calm and register with yourself that you probably won’t die and if you can find spaces to calm the action and rest, your life will be easier. It’s not life and death, relax a little bit.
