Almost anything you want to know in the world is at the end of your fingertips. Therefore, ignorance is more of a choice than an excuse. Saying you don’t know the general rules of Jiu Jitsu as a coach or a participant is lazy, very few things change and they are usually posted on the event website. The IBJJF even has their rules in video format. The same can be said of nearly any question not directly related to your Jiu Jitsu. You are probably better off asking google who is related to who or when certain things are. Clarifying things or helping you with your actual Jiu Jitsu is really all your coach is more qualified for than the internet. Don’t expect them to be the font of all knowledge of all things. It’s a weird amount of credit to give someone without knowing their qualifications.
